Frequent Flyer Credit Cards

Frequent flyer credit cards are credit cards issued by credit card companies which offer loyalty programs in collaboration with an airline. Usually the holder of a frequent flyer credit card accumulates frequent flyer miles, kilometers or points when they use their credit card. The number of points the holder of the card receives depends on the amount they spend using their frequent flyer credit card, and the miles, kilometers or points can be redeemed for either free air travel, business or first class upgrades, access to airport lounges, priority bookings or other goods and services.

Consumers who are thinking of applying for a frequent flyer credit card should evaluate different cards by determining how long it would take them to earn enough points or miles to receive a free ticket. This is a fairly simple procedure and is done by dividing the average amount spent on a credit card every month by the standard number of points required to be eligible for free air travel.
